Who Am I?
Maria-Elena Grant is the principle interior designer for Awesome Rooms, LLC. She is also the organizing consultant and real estate stager. She founded the company in 2007.
Maria-Elena decorates and organizes residences, storefronts and offices and also stages homes for real estate sale. She has donated her time and expertise by decorating historical homes with proceeds going to local non-profit organizations. She has conducted seminars and courses on organizing, and staging at local community schools, libraries and business organizations.
She received the New Jersey State Business Woman of the Year Award from the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO). The award honors a member who has distinguished herself in her business, NJAWBO, and in her community.
She is a contributing author to “Big Bold Business Advice from New Jersey Women Business Owners: Practical Pointers, Solutions, and Strategies for Business”, published by Woodpecker Press. Her chapter deals with the increased productivity that comes with having an organized office. The book received the Axiom Business Book Award.
Maria-Elena has completed the Interior Decorating Program at Bergen Community College. She has her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Caldwell University. Before starting Awesome Rooms, she began her work experience as an associate engineer at AT&T. She gained experience and skills that she later used as a marketing executive with Avaya and Lucent Technologies. Maria-Elena earned an MBA in finance from Seton Hall University.
